Is the company properly insured?
Is the company properly insured?
One of the first questions to ask is whether the company carries proper insurance.
Does the company carry commercial general liability insurance? If they're using a vehicle for business purposes, is it appropriately insured for commercial use? If they have employees, do they carry workers' compensation coverage as required? If they're an owner operated company, have they properly addressed any applicable workers' compensation requirements or exemptions?
Luxury Leather Restoration carries commercial general liability and commercial automobile insurance, and we're happy to provide a current Certificate of Insurance upon request.
Why does this matter?
When someone is working inside your home or business, you're not simply purchasing a furniture service. You're allowing a company onto your property with equipment, tools and restoration products. If an accident occurs or property is damaged, you want to know you're dealing with a legitimate business that has taken appropriate steps to protect itself and its customers.
Insurance is an expense. So is professional equipment. So is taking the time to properly protect someone's property. Those costs are part of running a professional company and can be part of the difference between two bids.
